Just to let you know –

I changed cover letter and sent resume off for a position in Career One last Saturday 11 Sept for Telephone Sales & Customer Support. For longevity I knew I needed to change industries – garden/horticultural has too many variables. Job advertisement asked phone interview first, of course, then I received a call for face to face this morning to be offered the position on the spot in the wide format digital printing field.

Start date to be confirmed – in 2 or 3 weeks. This reinforces my decision that resumes sourced from a professional writer are a must in today’s market.

Thank you so much to both you and Rachel for assisting me in my job search and indeed into successful employment.

As a recent postgraduate of mature age, I arrived in Australia towards the end of last year hoping to land the perfect job almost immediately.  Three months later, and after applying for a number of appropriate jobs on seek.com – with not so much as an invite to be interviewed, I realised that something was horribly wrong.  After our brief conversation Tanya, you and I met at your Office in Stones Corner and you suggested we rework my Resume, and write an appropriate cover letter in response to an advertised vacancy that I was interested in filling.  You also drafted a generic cover letter so I could approach organisations in terms of prospective vacancies not yet advertised.

Within a week of sending out a generic letter and my fresh Resume, I was called to interview for a vacancy not yet advertised, but one that aligned strongly with both my personal values and work-values; fostering education in young adults.   At first I was appointed into a casual position as Student Learning & Support Officer.  Two months later, I was promoted to Supervisor of the department with a team of four staff reporting to me.  This appointment has been both rewarding and challenging, two qualities that tap all elements that motivate me to deliver my best performance every day.  In terms of job satisfaction, what could be more satisfying than empowering both students and team members to realise their potential for self-development and indeed their capacity to change lives?

I thought I would drop you a note to let you know that I have found my way back in to management. I commence my new appointment on Monday 16th Aug as QLD Operations Manager. Hi Tanya,

I just wanted to share my exciting news with you as the resume you did for me was responsible for getting me the interview in the first place!  I ended up resigning from my current position as I wanted to concentrate on getting a new job asap and was finding it tricky juggling job interviews with a fulltime job.  The resume and cover letter you did for me got me some great interviews with some amazing companies including Henkel & Schwarzkopf Australia, Parmalat etc...  I just got a call this morning offering me a fulltime Sales Representative position with Company X which is a company that does everything from hair dye to furniture for salons.  I am looking after the accounts from Brisbane to Noosa and am responsible for launching an exciting new product into the salons called Product Y.  This product is amazing and celebritys have even been talking about it on twitter!
